Paid domestic violence leave

From 1 April 2019 employees who are impacted by domestic violence will have the right to an extra 10 days' paid leave a year and right to request short-term flexible working arrangements for up to two months.  The working arrangements can include, hours, days, place of work duties or any other term of the employment agreement..

The employee must have suffered from domestic violence or be living with a child who has suffered domestic violence.

These changes will help de-stigmatise domestic violence and empower employees to feel comfortable about raising the issue with their employer.
